When our shrimp arrive in the US, we're there waiting to pick them up from the airport ourselves like those cool guys do in movies. We put on their favorite tunes on in the car, and we carefully chauffeur them back home. Our water parameters at home match those of their previous tanks from our partners overseas, but we like to slowly acclimate them to our tanks anyways. Like us, our supplier has top notch practices in terms of health management, pest control, and the overall cleanliness and consistently of their managing their tanks, but we go the extra mile by quarantining all of our shrimp for 4-8 weeks before they are available to you. All imported shrimp is preventatively treated in our tanks upon arrival to guarantee that we eliminate any potential risks of diseases, parasites, fungus, etc. During this time we observe and monitor them closely while they mingle and feast until they are deemed available for their forever homes.
When you place an order, we begin the shipping and handling process. It starts with us checking both our weather here in Virginia, and your weather where you're shipping to. If weather conditions aren't right (either way too warm or way too cold) we'll temporarily hold your order while we wait until there is a clear window to ship your order safely.
